The John Howard Society supports youth and adults through prevention programming, housing support, employment services, and community-based programming. Due to a new growing collaboration with the school board, the organization will see more youth accessing their building during the day and is expanding safe outdoor space to support this growth.

Volunteers are needed to assist with extending and improving backyard fencing to create a more secure and welcoming outdoor environment for current and future youth programs.

  • Extending an existing wooden fence line
  • Replacing sections of damaged fencing
  • Measuring, assembling, and installing new fencing materials
  • Dig holes for fence posting with shovel
  • Assist with site prep and clean up

  • Experience with construction, carpentry, fencing, or general trades work preferred
  • Comfort using power tools and measuring equipment
  • Ability to perform moderate to heavy physical work (lifting, digging, assembly)
